Wlodzimierz Kolos
Born September 6th, 1928 in Pinsk, Poland. Professor of Chemistry, University of Warsaw, Poland.
Author of:
Approximately 130 papers and 3 books (in Polish).
Important Contributions:
-
Development of methods and performance of very accurate computations on small systems, in particular on various states and various properties of the hydrogen molecule. Some of these results have led to correction or reinterpretation of experimental data. Results have also been obtained that can enable determination of the neutrino mass when high resolution measurements are made of the β-decay spectrum of the tritium molecule.
-
Development of perturbation theory approach to intermolecular interactions.
-
Performance of very accurate computations which provide information on possible fusion yields in muon catalysed fusion reactions.
